The Women in ICT Programme

The aim of this programme is to support women working or studying for ICT to meet, network and to acquire knowledge about the latest in ICT. This will also be an opportunity for sharing knowledge and skills with each other. A goal specific for this group is to develop a networking platform for collegial support and sharing knowledge.

Women with African nationality above the age of 18 are welcome to apply for this programme. Women who work with ICT to improve the ICT skills among women are especially encouraged to apply. Furthermore, the participants should have minimum basic ICT-skills. Also women not directly involved in the ICT sector, but working in women's' advocacy groups are welcome to apply to this programme. They are engaged in women rights or inclusion and would like to learn more about how ICT could be incorporated in their work.

The programme offers to cover travel costs to and from the conference where funding circumstances allow, registration fee waiver. Accommodation and visa costs will be covered where applicable. Except for the opportunity to network with stakeholders within their sector, the participants will acquire the latest within ICT in relation to their sector.

As soon as the participants have been chosen, they will be introduced to each other and have a meeting prior to the conference. This would also be the time to prepare their own questions and develop aims specific to their work. Here it would be possible for the participants to discuss what workshops/sessions could be relevant for their work. Also, this would be an opportunity to network with potential partners.

After the conference, the participants will provide a post-conference report, with results of their experiences and networking and acquired knowledge.

To request an application form, please email application@easttrust.org. Application deadline: January 4, 2016.
